Migrant Education Program

Migrant Education Program

The Migrant Education Program (Title I, Part C) is a federally funded program that provides supplemental academic and support services to students whose families have moved to seek temporary or seasonal work in agriculture or related industries.

The program is designed to help students overcome barriers that can result from frequent moves, language differences, and limited access to educational resources. By providing additional support, the Migrant Education Program helps ensure students experience continuity in their education and have the opportunity to achieve academic success.

How The Program Supports Students

Students participating in the Migrant Education Program may receive:

  • Academic support in reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Assistance with school enrollment and records transfers
  • Support for credit accrual and graduation planning
  • Coordination with other educational programs, including Multilingual Learners (MLL/EL) and Title I services
  • Family outreach and connections to community resources
  • Advocacy to help ensure continuity of education during transitions

Who Qualifies?

Students may be eligible for Migrant Education services if their family has moved within the past 36 months to seek or obtain temporary or seasonal employment in agriculture or related industries.

Families who believe they may qualify are encouraged to complete the Migrant Survey Form.
