A SUPERIOR ONLINE EXPERIENCE
Goshen Community Schools realizes most students find academic and social success best through a traditional in-person learning environment. It is important to our district that we also honor the many students who have unique situations or challenges that make finding success in a traditional educational system more difficult.
Recognizing students as individuals with unique characteristics and differing wants and needs, Goshen Community Schools has found that a virtual curriculum which offers a self-paced and differentiated approach to the specific needs of a student, can also be highly effective. It is particularly effective when paired with dynamic one-on-one or small group support components. This is what Chandler Virtual Academy can offer! The Chandler Virtual Academy (CVA) has a formula for success that will help meet the needs of non-traditional students.
OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
Students benefit from the flexibility of an online learning program and the unique opportunities provided by Goshen Community Schools.
- Graduates will earn a Goshen High School diploma, that could include 9-12 diploma track for a General, Core 40, or Academic Honors diploma.
- Students are provided with a specific class time where they can receive one-on-one support as they engage in a high-quality curriculum.
- Students receive individualized guidance and support from a CVA teacher, principal, and school counselor.
- Live tutoring support is available from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:00-3:00 p.m. each day that school is in session.
- Options for Advanced Placement (AP courses) are included in the curriculum.

- CVA also offers a hybrid option where students may elect to participate as in-person students for 1-2 select courses at Goshen High School and attend other courses virtually at CVA. The list of approved courses is vast, which offers the flexibility needed for many students.

Students attending CIA can expect to experience as much flexibility as they want with specific parameters for teacher assistance and support. There are two specific sessions where students have direct access to their support teacher for three hours:
8:30-11:30am or 12:00-3:00pm:
- In those three hours, a student will be able to communicate via zoom calls or through the chat feature on our classroom management software.
- Teachers are available to instruct and explain during these hours.
- Teachers are available to model specific learning tasks and the thinking and problem-solving.
Beyond those three-hour sessions:
- Students can request help from the instructor via email and other means of communication.
