School board members, administrators, teachers, and families celebrated some exceptional students at the board meeting on May 27^th, as the 2013-2014 Turn Around Awards were presented.   As each award was handed out, a teacher and/or administrator told the story of that particular student’s educational journey.  They gave examples about how students had increased math and reading levels by more than two or three years in just one academic year, about how their behaviors and attitudes had dramatically improved, about how their work ethic grew, and about how they became leaders in their schools.  There were both tears and smiles in the crowded room, as each student received appreciation for his or her efforts during this school year.
