Tonight, GCS students gathered at Goshen Intermedi Tonight, GCS students gathered at Goshen Intermediate School for a community kickoff event with E3 Robotics Center, exploring what robotics could look like across our district.

We’re working to launch robotics teams at each elementary school and at GIS, and this event gave students a chance to get hands-on, ask questions, and spark curiosity around STEM and engineering.

If your K–6 student didn’t attend but wants to get involved, reach out to your school’s principal; they’ll connect you with the coach or mentor for your building’s team. #redhawkexcellence

Today marked the first day of Title 1 Preschool at Chandler, and our classrooms were full of energy, curiosity, and creativity!

We stopped in to visit Mrs. Gerber and Mrs. Schmucker’s afternoon class, where students were already diving into a variety of activities: listening to stories, playing with playdough, coloring, and building structures.

It’s always exciting to welcome our youngest learners into the GCS family, and we’re looking forward to a year full of growth, exploration, and joyful learning at Chandler!

Through a local partnership, students are getting real-world experience learning about aircraft construction and aviation careers.

This is a unique program that aligns with our vision of preparing students for high-wage, high-demand pathways with possibilities that extend far beyond the classroom.

We’re proud to support innovative learning experiences like this, and we’re grateful to The City of Goshen, Indiana, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County, and our partners at the airport and mayor's office for making it possible.

We're back with The RedHawk Report for the 2025-26 We're back with The RedHawk Report for the 2025-26 school year!

This month, GJHS Principal Jan Baker and District Attendance Officer Jeromy Sheets share why attendance matters and how we can work together to start the 2025-26 school year strong.

When students are in school consistently, they’re building routines, relationships, and confidence that last far beyond the classroom. And when challenges do come up, whether it’s illness, transportation, or family needs, we’re here to help.

Remember, if your student does need to miss a day, we ask that you please contact your child's school every day that your child will miss.

In the 2024–25 school year, Goshen Community Schools saw a 13% increase in students achieving our district goal of 94% attendance or higher, that’s 780 more students district-wide attending school regularly compared to the 2023-24 school year.

It’s a step in the right direction, and we’re aiming to get 1% better every day. That starts with showing up, staying connected, and giving students the support they need to succeed.

Watch the video to learn more and help us keep the momentum going this year.

English/Spanish Post From Superintendent Jim DuBo English/Spanish Post

From Superintendent Jim DuBois

We’re starting the 2025–26 school year with strong momentum at Goshen Community Schools. Thanks to the hard work of our students, staff, and families, we saw remarkable growth last year.

More students were consistently in school, and more students achieved success in both English Language Arts and Math. Our improvement placed GCS among the most improved districts in the state, a testament to the commitment and determination of our RedHawk community.

This year, we’ll keep building on what works. We’ll continue investing in our pathway programs, which give students opportunities to explore careers, develop skills, and prepare for life after graduation.

We’re challenging all students to get 1% better every day, whether that’s in attendance, academics, or personal growth. Every day matters. Every improvement matters. And together, we can make this year our best yet.

#RedHawkPride

One of Superintendent Jim DuBois’ core beliefs i One of Superintendent Jim DuBois’ core beliefs is simple but powerful: get 1% better every day.

This mindset isn’t just for our staff, it’s for our students too. Imagine the progress you could make if you focused on improving just a little bit each day, whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, on stage, or in your relationships. Small, consistent steps add up to big results.

This week and next, the Mental Performance Daily Podcast, hosted by Brian Cain, is dedicating a special two-week mini seminar to Goshen Community Schools on “getting 1% better.” These short, daily episodes are only a few minutes long and offer practical, motivating tips that align perfectly with this theme.

As we gear up for our staggered start next week, we encourage all RedHawks to think about what your “1% better” could look like this year. Let’s make 2025–26 a year of growth, effort, and opportunity.
