Goshen High School Announces Hiring of New Football Coach Joseph Hecklinski
GOSHEN, Jan 03, 2024 – Goshen High School is thrilled to announce, pending approval at the January 8, 2024, school board meeting, the appointment of Joseph Hecklinski as the new head football coach. With an impressive track record and extensive experience in college football, Coach Hecklinski brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Goshen RedHawks.
Coach Hecklinski has dedicated ten years of his coaching career at the college level, with institutions such as Manchester University, Marian University, Butler University, and most recently, Ball State University. Throughout his coaching tenure, he has nurtured the talent of quarterbacks, receivers, and running backs, equipping them with the skills necessary to excel on the field.
Notably, Coach Hecklinski served as the recruiting coordinator during his time at Ball State University, further demonstrating his commitment to building a strong and competitive team. His skills in talent acquisition and development will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of the Goshen football program.
In addition to his coaching experience, Coach Hecklinski brings firsthand knowledge as a former quarterback at Marian University, where he was part of a national championship team. This successful playing career provides him with a unique perspective and understanding of the game, which will undoubtedly resonate with the Goshen student-athletes under his guidance.
Coach Hecklinski’s educational background is equally impressive. As a licensed educator with a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education, along with a minor in Economics, he possesses the academic foundation to impart valuable life skills to his players both on and off the field. Goshen High School is confident that his dedication to fostering well-rounded student-athletes will contribute to a positive and enriching experience for the students under his leadership.
Coach Hecklinski, his wife Sarah, and their newborn son are excited to return to Northern Indiana. Their commitment to this area, coupled with Coach Hecklinski’s passion and expertise, signals the beginning of an exhilarating new chapter for Goshen football.
