The key to improving education, Schlechty believes, lies in the third alternative: to provide better quality work for students-work that is engaging and that enables students to learn what they need in order to succeed in the world.

NLC Teacher Meetings
Teachers from the Northern Lakes Conference and other area high schools meet together at least once a year to discuss and examine Indiana testing specifically looking at ISTEP+, GQE and Core 40 exams. Meetings are conducted in the subject areas of English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
