Goshen Community Schools provides programs for students with many types of special needs.
Through specialized programs, we're able to meet the needs of students who benefit from non-traditional classroom instruction. The Gifted & Talented Program challenges students beyond their age or grade level instruction. The Merit Learning Center and Clarion programs provide an alternative academic setting for high school and middle school students, respectively.
GCS also partners with other area schools in the Elkhart County Special Education Cooperative (E.C.S.E.C), which serves with special physical, mental, and/or emotional needs. E.C.S.E.C. works with people ages 3 to 21 years.
Not all special programs are geared toward current high school, middle school and grade school students. Although the English as a New Language (ENL) program does serve current GCS students, the Adult Basic Skills Education offers individuals 16 years and older the opportunity to earn a GED and teaches English to speakers of other languages.
GCS programs are designed to help students develop the skills that will help them succeed in school and in life.
